Choosing the correct truck wheel requires more than matching the rim diameter to the tire. Confirm rim width, construction, load capacity, and vehicle mounting dimensions before ordering. This guide combines a tire and rim reference chart with measurement photos to help you prepare the information LANDCROWN needs to review your requirements.

How to read tire and rim sizes

For 315/80R22.5, 315 is the nominal tire section width in millimeters, 80 is the aspect ratio, R indicates radial construction, and 22.5 is the nominal rim diameter in inches. A rim shown as 22.5x9.00 has a nominal diameter of 22.5 inches and a width of 9.00 inches.

A measuring rim is the reference used for published tire dimensions; it is not necessarily the only approved rim. The simplified sizes below do not specify the complete rim contour or construction.

Why tire size alone is not enough

Two wheels marked 22.5x9.00 may have different bolt patterns, center bores, offsets, or load ratings. Confirm the bolt-hole count and PCD, centering system, nut-seat design, offset, brake clearance, and dual-wheel spacing where applicable. The rim contour and construction must also match the tire requirements.

Both tire and wheel load and pressure ratings must meet the intended operating requirements. A higher-rated tire does not increase the capacity of the wheel.

How to measure your existing wheel

Use the photographs as a guide to record the dimensions of an existing bare wheel. Send clear photos showing where each measurement was taken. Record measured dimensions in millimeters (mm).

Wheel measurement examples. The photos labelled Offset 01 and Offset 02 show depth checks; the readings alone do not establish wheel offset.

Rim width: Measure between the inner faces of the rim flanges. Do not confuse this with overall outside width.

Center bore: Measure the diameter of the center opening.

Bolt holes: Count the mounting holes and measure their diameter. Include a close-up of the hole and nut-seat shape.

PCD: For equally spaced holes with an even hole count, measure from one hole center to the center of the directly opposite hole. If unsure, send a clear front-view photo with the measurement positions visible.

Mounting depth: Place a straightedge across the rim edge and measure to the hub-contact mounting face. Identify the side and reference surfaces used. Our team can help review the information needed to confirm offset.

Nominal rim diameter: Send a photo of the stamped wheel size or a technical drawing. The outside flange diameter is not the nominal rim diameter.

Can different tire sizes use the same rim size

Several tire sizes may share a measuring rim size. This does not make the tires interchangeable on a vehicle. Tire diameter, load capacity, clearance, and vehicle requirements must also be checked.

Can I order using only a photograph

Photos help identify wheel markings and construction. A dimensioned drawing, verified measurements, or an original part number supported by technical specifications is more reliable for order confirmation.
